A Personal Message from the Owner

It doesn’t seem that long ago when I was using rate books to provide insurance quotes to customers. We hauled those bulky books to our customer’s homes long before laptops, cell phones, personal computers, and the internet. Stamps instead of email, fax machines instead of scanners: things were quite different then. Technology has made it possible for us to accomplish three times the work in a fraction of the time. The Chrismer Agency has always embraced the technologies that make this possible. However; one thing we haven’t done is replace personal service with technology. When you have a question, we’re here to provide the right answer. Some businesses love technology and use it to gain customers. At the Chrismer Agency, we love people and use technology to serve them. That’s the way it’s been since 1935, and that’s the way it’ll always be. Thanks for visiting our website. Why Independence is Important to You

When it comes to insurance agencies, there are two types: captive and independent.
A captive agency represents one insurance company. This presents a problem when the carrier raises its rates. Your only option at that point is to shop other insurance companies, and that takes time and effort. If you’re in search of a particular type of insurance for a specific risk, that could be a problem if you only have access to one insurance company. The simple fact is that a captive agency cannot provide products outside of those offered by the single insurance carrier they represent.

An Independent Agency represents multiple insurance companies. That allows the independent agent to ‘shop’ companies for the best rates on the most comprehensive coverage. An independent agency doesn’t work for an insurance company: they work for you. Should rates increase, your independent agent shops among their network of carriers to find the best possible rate for you.
